Object not being added in nested auto-layout

Hard to explain but,

I created a menu and added auto-layout.
At the start, I had four options and now I want to add a 5th but when I duplicate one of the options to have the 5th, it doesn’t belong to the nested auto-layout.

Used cmd + D doesn’t work.
Duplicated through Edit > Duplicate doesn’t work.
cmd + C then cmd + V doesn’t work.
