Hi!

Our company recently switched to Figma/FigJam for virtual whiteboarding, the tool works great except that scrolling around by middle mouse button dragging pastes my clipboard content all over the doc.

I’m using lastest ubuntu & firefox.

Very strange issue, I guess it’s something related to your system, I can’t replicate on Mac. Try contacting Figma support.

I think your mouse is set to click the middle button, which is the shortcut key for pasting. You can check the mapping of Zhongjian, if your mouse has mapping set.

So what? I also use Linux and struggle from the same problem. Figma needs to add setting to change movement button from middle mouse click.

For anyone wondering, this is not a bug, rather a feature on Linux’ Firefox.
Figma web-app doesn't control it. (I think they should add a note about this in their docs)’

To disable middle-mouse click:

  1. in Firefox’s search bar, type in:
about:config
  1. skip the warning, in the preference search bar, type in:
middlemouse.paste

this option is a boolean, disable it by pressing the `Toggle` button on the right side of the screen to set it to false.

Show content

(extra note: h key [ hand tool ] can replace middle-mouse)

(extra extra note: Some admins/schools/universities might disable any changes to `about:config` page, in that case, either use any chromium based browsers or download Figma’s native app, i think chrome doesn’t do paste on middlemouse click on default)
