Hi everyone,


I’m an educator in a UX program at an academic college, (where I was also a student). I’ve been using Figma’s Education plan for a while now, and my plan is set to expire in 10 days. When I tried to renew it, I was prompted to sign up with my academic email.


Here’s the thing: both our program head and I, as a student and now as an educator, have always used our personal emails for the Figma Education plan. This was done to ensure we could continue working on projects after finishing school. Now, I’m facing issues with renewing because of this switch to academic email registration.


Has anyone else faced this issue or knows how I can resolve it while still using my personal email?

Typically, an academic email address is the most straightforward for verification purposes, but you can use any email that’s already linked to your Figma account to apply/renew for the education plan. I understand that this could be confusing, and sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.


If you haven’t already, would you mind trying to apply using the personal email that’s currently associated with your Figma education plan?

Hi, I have the same issue. Can I link my academic email address to my current account to get it renewed without losing my projects? I have also emailed education@figma.com
