Hello,

Is there any possible way to don’t allow objects being copied/duplicated?

I thought that by locking them, that wouldn’t be possible, such as on Miro. I created a canvas/framework, where I’m adding post-it’s on top of it. Commonly when I click on a post-it, holding option to duplicate it, I end up duplicating the actual canvas (WHICH IS ALREADY LOCKED???).

Many thanks,

Hi there,

Thanks for the post! I assume your question is about FigJam. If that’s the case, the locked objects cannot be copied if it stays locked. But, other editors are able to unlock them. Unfortunately, you can’t allow other editors unlock them.

If you wish to do so, I think you can post a new post as share an idea for feature request. You can gauge interest from the community!

Thanks again,

Toku

@y_toku restarting an old topic here … what OP was asking about is when an object is locked, you can drag/drop while holding the ‘option’ key (on Mac) – which creates a duplicate even when the object is in fact locked.

It’s easy enough to try it out – I just verified this behaviour now. It tends to happen a lot during workshops as less experienced FigJam users end up creating duplicates of locked objects accidentally.

Could we add this as a feature request? (or bug report even)

Hi there,

I understood the point. Based on the help center article, it seems an expected behavior. So I think it could be a feature request. But, I’m also checking with our internal team to confirm if it’s bug. I will get back to you if it is a bug!

Thanks for your patience.

Toku
