There are quite a few feature requests that are 4+ years old—some with hundreds of thousands of views, and hundreds of upvotes. Meanwhile: scrubbable inputs and smart font symbols are here. :)
I don’t expect my personal wishlist to be prioritized, so I’ll refrain from mentioning anything specific here. But it does feel odd to see (what I feel are) niche features roll out while long-standing, high-visibility requests go untouched—many of which feel quite basic.
I’m sure Figma has internal reasons. Maybe technical debt or architectural blockers?
And I respect the “no roadmap communication” policy—totally valid. But paired with low-demand feature releases and leaving these old requests untouched... it can come off as poor prioritization. In the absence of active communication, It’s not unreasonable for the user base to jump to conclusions about deeper internal issues and lose confidence.
Not trying to rant. Just curious. I’m sure there are reasons—it’s just frustrating at times.
So yeah. Honest question here. How does Figma’s team go about prioritizing features, and why are we seeing scrubbable inputs and smart font symbols (which I can’t find any mention of in the forums), while high-demand features sit in the forum for 4 years?
