Figma Make and custom fonts

Bumping this because I don’t see an answer and I’m having the same issue where I’ve used a reference frame from my design system with a font from my organization and I’m seeing a fallback output in Figma Make… 😑

Hi everyone! Thanks for asking about this. At the moment, Figma Make doesn’t support custom fonts in the picker for Org. I completely understand how valuable this would be, and the team is already aware of it as they explore future improvements.

I’m excited about Figma Make, but the lack of custom font support blocks my team from adopting it since we rely heavily on our brand fonts. Adding this feature would make the tool much more valuable for teams like ours. Thanks for considering!

It will be great if we can use custom fonts. Now it’s doesn’t make sense to use it for our brand

Hey all, you can totally use custom fonts with Figma Make. We didn’t support custom fonts when we launched, but we added support over the summer. 

The easiest way to change a font is to use point-and-edit. From the inline toolbar you should see all of your fonts (even custom ones). If you aren’t seeing them there, you might need to install the Font Helper app or the Figma desktop app to sync you local computer fonts to Make.

If you are prompting, just make sure to tell Make to use your custom font with the exact name of the font. It should know what to do.

Today we only support custom fonts in Preview. Very soon we’ll be adding support for Published Makes as well. Stay tuned.

Yes, Figma can use custom fonts available to your organization and team by installing them locally or via the Figma Font Helper for web access.

if you upload your fonts to github and tell Make to take the font from there its work. you can ask gpt to guide you . its worked for me

The ability to use local fonts is a small step forward, but we really need Figma Make to be able to use the fonts we’ve already loaded in Figma (Design) resources.
