Hello! I’m a contractor with a paid professional Figma license. I’m working with a company with a tight budget and they added me as an editor to one of their Figma designs. They used the email that is associated to my Figma account but are being charged for a new Editor. This has to be a common scenario for a company to add a contractor with their own account, they shouldn’t be charged by Figma as a separate editor? How does a company add an existing Figma account holder outside of their organization without getting charged?

Hey @Joe_Loeppky – based on your message, I think there’s confusion on how Figma subscriptions work.

Figma subscriptions are on the team level, and not the account level.

While you may have a paid professional seat in a team that you own individually, that seat/license you pay for doesn’t apply account-wide. You only have a professional seat in the team you personally own.

The company you’re working for has their own individual team, and they have invited you to be an editor on it. Once you’ve accepted editor access to their team, that means they will now be billed for the seat you now occupy in their team.
