Export PDF Files Creates Huge Files

Hey Folk.

I’m trying to export a frame in Figma which has noch images, just text, forms, blurry layer…When I export this frame, the file size is around 18MB and I don’t get why?

I’m creating presentations with Figma and when you’ve 50 Slides… Do the math…

Any help here?

Hey! If your Figma frame has no images but still exports as an 18 MB (megabyte) PDF, it’s likely due to effects like blurs, gradients, or complex vector layers being rasterized.

(Quick note: "MB" = megabytes, not to be confused with "Mb" [megabits] a common mix-up in file sizes vs. internet speeds!)

To shrink your PDF:

  • Simplify heavy effects (e.g., reduce blur intensity).

  • Flatten unnecessary vector layers.

  • Export slides in sections.
