When I copy any Figma frame using Cmd+Shift+C (copy as png), it gives a message “copied as png” but when I try to paste it in google slides, it doesn’t work. As if there’s nothing in the clipboard.
Tried clearing the clipboard still doesn’t work.

Hi Rajdeep, thanks for flagging this! I tested it on my end and it seems to be working as expected.

Can you confirm if the issue happens only in the desktop app, or also in the browser? If you're using a browser, please ensure it’s up-to-date. For your information, we support Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

In the meantime, try force-quitting Figma and restarting to see if that helps. If the issue persists, feel free to submit a bug report with the steps you've taken, and make sure to use your Figma email account to reach out to us. Thank you!

Yes, it works as expected when I use a browser (Safari on Mac). However, the issue still occurs in the desktop app, even after restarting it.

Thanks for the additional details, this does seem unusual. I’ve located your support ticket on our end and have escalated it internally.

We appreciate your patience in the meantime!

Thanks. Please LMK when a fix is ready.
It affects our daily workflows, so I’d really appreciate a prompt resolution.

Totally understand how this impacts your workflow! Thanks again for your patience.

Our technical quality team is currently investigating and is waiting some additional information from you to move forward. Once we have that, they'll be able to dig in further! Please check your inbox when you have a moment. Thank you 🙏🏼

I have the same behavior as Rajdeep.

On MacOS, when using the desktop app, I can see the “Copied as png” message but cannot paste afterward. However, opening the same file and copying the same frame in the web app (In Google Chrome) does work.

More detail:
Using Finder, you can see what’s in your clipboard. When using the Desktop app, I can see the screenshot is there but whenever I’m interacting with the Clipboard preview window it gets deleted. When doing the same thing with the screenshot from the web interface, the screenshot stays in the clipboard preview window.

Hi @sebastien.giroux , apologies for the delayed response here, I was away.

I’ve reviewed @Rajdeep Sutradhar’s case, and our team has been unable to reproduce the issue when copying content from the Figma desktop app to browser applications. We're currently waiting for more information from Rajdeep, including network and console logs captured after reproducing the issue. Our engineers have also suggested checking with the IT department to review any relevant permission settings.

If you're experiencing the same problem, we recommend reaching out to our support team for further investigation by submitting a bug report.

When submitting, please:

  • Use the email associated with your Figma account

  • Include your network and console logs after reproducing the issue

Here’s how to capture those logs:

Thank you!

I have been facing the same issue for several months now. The first copy to the clipboard can never be pasted. If I repeat "copy as PNG" after an unsuccessful paste, it usually works.

It worked as expected before, but I can't tell when it changed. Probably after some update.
Using MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1
Figma desktop 125.7.5

I’m on MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1 as well. I’m using the latest version of Figma Desktop, but the problem has been occuring for a long time.

My experience is that “Copy to png” works within Figma Desktop, but never from Figma Desktop to another app.
