Can you make something that isn't text (like for example, vector shape) look like it's in italic?

So, I feel like making something that’s not text (like for example, a vector shape) look like it’s italic. Like, is it even possible?

Yes, it’s definitely possible to make non-text elements like vector shapes appear italic. This effect is usually achieved by skewing or shearing the shape, tilting it diagonally to the right (or left). Most vector graphic tools like Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or Inkscape offer a “Shear” or “Skew” transformation. Applying this transformation slants the shape, giving it an italicized appearance similar to text. You can control the angle to match typical italic styles (usually around 10–15 degrees). It’s a visual trick rather than a font-based feature, but it works well for adding a dynamic or stylized look to graphics.
