Multiple Labels on arrows

Edward_Battistini

1. Describe the bug/issue you’re running into?

  • When adding multiple labels to an arrow
  • When I bring a label to the front
  • Then the arrow is not behind the labels
  • And sometimes the masking does not work

2. Are you able to consistently reproduce it? If so what are the steps?
Yes

  1. Create an arrow between two elements
  2. Add a text label
  3. Select the label
  4. Press cmd + d to duplicate it
  5. Move the newly created label along the arrow
  6. Repeat step 4 - 5 as many times as you want
  7. Bring one label to the front (right click bring to front)

Now the order of label and arrow is all messed up
and the masking of the arrow might be broken

3. Share a screenshot, recording, console log, link to the file, etc.

4. Is the issue only happening in desktop app or a specific browser , or both?
Desktop app

5. What OS/version and/or browser/version are you using?

Hi @Edward_Battistini! This is currently expected behaviour because the text does not have a background and there are multiple connectors overlapping each other.

You could alternatively toggle on the text background! Here’s an article that will show you how: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500004414542-Create-diagrams-and-flows-with-connectors-and-lines#Show_text_background

Hey @Edward_Battistini this definitely looks strange. I just logged this with the team and will be taking a closer look soon. 🙂

Hey thanks for your answer! I did not realise the Cmd+D would duplicate the connector and not just text label.

I understand now.

Thank you!
