Hi Figma team and community! 👋

I've noticed several posts from users looking for a way to export Figma prototypes as video (MP4 or GIF). Right now, the only available solutions seem to be third-party plugins or screen recording tools, which work—but aren't always ideal when we need quick, high-quality exports to share with clients or on social media.

I’m wondering if Figma has any plans to include native support for exporting prototypes to video in the near future. This would be an incredibly helpful feature for presenting flows, especially for marketing or stakeholder presentations.

Would love to hear if this is something that’s on the roadmap, or being considered!

Thanks 🙏

Totally agree with this—native export to GIF or MP4 would be a game-changer. Third party apps want to charge an arm and a leg.

Here’s an intuitive implementation path that I think Figma could realistically pull off with relatively low lift:

  1. Users build out prototype flows using Smart Animate + automatic delay transitions (the way we already do for smooth, timed animations).

  2. When we click Present, there’s an added option to “Export as GIF” (or MP4).

  3. Figma captures the prototype playback and generates a clean, high-quality animation—ready to share without needing to manually screen record or stitch frames.

This would save so much time. Often I need to create a GIF to share motion flows for complex wizards.

Seems like a small feature with massive value.
