Unable to Open Figma File

Problème Figma

Subject: Urgent: Unable to Open Figma File

Hi there,

I’m encountering an issue where I can’t open a specific Figma file. I’ve tried accessing it both through the browser and the desktop app, but unfortunately, Figma runs into a problem in both instances.

This has been ongoing for a week now, and I’m unable to edit the file or even restore a previous version.

Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi there! Sorry to hear this is happening.
To troubleshoot this, would you be able to check a few things for us?

  • Does this happen on both the Figma desktop app and Figma browser app?
  • If this is only happening in the desktop app, we suggest that you clear the cache on the Desktop app. Here is our guide to do it: here
  • If this is happening on Browser, can you specify in which browser? Chrome, Safari?

If this doesn’t help, it would be great to have a URL link of your file , and share it with support-share@figma.com, so we can try to replicate. Please fill out this form to reach out to the support team: here

It happens on both on the Figma desktop app and on Figma browser app
I have tried with Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

I have filled out the form and shared the URL Link

Hey Lucile! Thanks for confirming and glad to hear it’s been solved.
For others in the community that may have a similar issue, the workaround here was to restore a previous version of the file.

Close all tabs where you have this file open, and in the file browser (not the editor):

  1. Hold down the modifier keys and click on the file in the file browser
  2. Mac: ⇧Shift ⌃Control ⌥ Option
  3. Windows: Alt + Shift
  4. Select Restore from version.
  5. Click Restore next to the appropriate version.
This will help to go back only one or two versions.

I’ve gone ahead and closed the topic here
