I understand that an organisation plan allows you to upload a shared font. That has been made clear via support forums, what’s unclear is do editors need an organisation seat also to use shared fonts or can they be just a professional seat?
For instance I have an organisation seat, but my colleague has every feature he needs within just a professional seat, will the project or file I share with them bring across that organisation shared font, and will they still be able to make edits using that font? Also I’m assuming that external viewers with a link would see the shared font as well?
This is one of a few pivotal decisions in which my organisation would make the switch to Figma so needs clarifying.
Hey @Reece_Watt - for anyone pro/free/viewer only, they’d need to actually install the file locally in order for them to view the design text correctly.
On the organization level, you can push said fonts to others within the org. However, because other free/pro/viewers aren’t part of the organization, the fonts can’t ‘forced’ to them.
It comes down to the organization admins only being able to take actions on users within the organization. I understand why that’s probably not ideal, and I’ll take your feedback over to our design systems team. Hope this helps clarify!
I have this same problem. It would be great when working with agencies and contractors to utilize our organization fonts if only for specified individual files.
