Publishing icon library took so long

Hi Figma friends!

I’m new to Figma. I just learned how to duplicate and publish icon library so I can use them in my projects.

Unfortunately, it took so long, like forever, to publish. The issue happened to this particular library only. I know this one is large but the publishing progress never pass 10%, even after half a day!

My network speed:

I should wait 1-2 days for it to publish or can I do something to address the situation?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Did you figure this out?
I know that if I have a larger library file it can take a while to upload. The same happens if it has a lot of pages.

You could pull the icons from the document that you’ll actually use to reduce the size of the file.

The issue still remains, but I guess it’s okay to pull icon directly from the other project. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I usually just have the icons I use in the document so it can publish quicker.

Same with me - Material Design Icons does not want to publish. I noticed there are links to missing library styles in the same file, so i wonder if that might be an issue. Or do we need to clean the cash and do some resetting?

Having the exact same problem here. Publishing usually works after a while on smaller icon libraries, but MD’s is just too large, I guess —I’m just gonna duplicate the main components to my project

The same issue is still here. Trying to publish the Material Design icons set with 2086 components and get the “Publishing failed:” error after 10+ minutes of waiting…

This is a painful process. The only solution is to publish batches of the icons at a time - I’m trying to publish material icons which has 6500+ icons, and manually checking around 1000 icons at a time to publish, this process alone manages to eat all the time the Figma saves in other areas. Maybe a button to ‘select first 500 components’ wouldn’t be a bad start
