I am currently working on color updates to our UI kit and have noticed that not all of the colors are updating when I drop a screen from one variable mode to another, therefore I cannot accurately look at my color updates side by side. This feature seemed to be working fine on Friday.
Hi @Tiffany_Schoepp, Thank you for bringing this issue with variable modes to our attention. I understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected.
We would really appreciate it if you could provide us with more details about this issue.
Could you confirm if this issue is occurring on the desktop app, web browser, or both?
Additionally, it would be very helpful if you could share a quick video recording demonstrating the issue and how you apply those colors using variable modes.
For example, setting colors on each mode of a variable and applying the variable to fill, then changing the mode on the page.
It would be best to show the entire Figma screen, including the properties and layers panels on the left and right, and expanding the relevant layers. This way, we can get a clear understanding of the issue you are facing.
If you prefer to share the file privately, I recommend contacting our support team through this link: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Make sure to use your Figma account email, include direct links to the related files (design file and if those colors located in library, library file), and add support-share@figma.com as an Editor to the files (this will not affect your billing). This will help our support team investigate further and provide assistance.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Please let me know if I misunderstood anything. Additionally, we appreciate any insights from our community!
Thank you.
My apologies, it appears these colors were pointing to some old color style remnants that were duplicate colors to new color variables which is why they were not translating in different modes. Thank you for your reply.
