I can’t use fonts that I just installed on my Mac (it works very well on Adobe), it does not appear in the font listing on Figma… ( for exemple, the font Quizles that I just bought on Myfont, the font Meno Banner… ) I don’t understand why.
Hey Estelle, thank you for reaching out! If you’ve installed a font on your computer, it should be an available in Figma. You need to use Figma’s desktop app or install the Font Service if you’re using the browser app.
Follow these steps to install the Figma Font Service on Mac: Install and validate fonts in Font Book on Mac – Apple Support (UK)
After installing the Font Helper you won’t see those changes in Figma immediately. Quit and restart the desktop app or refresh the browser app you’re using to access Figma.
@Ojas_Arora Just to cover grounds, could you please check that the font file is .TTF or .OFT? Figma only supports .TTF and .OTF font files.
The font must also be installed in your computer’s font manager, and Figma also doesn’t currently support local fonts for devices running ChromeOS or Linux. Chromebook and Linux users can only use Google fonts, which are the default fonts in Figma.
If you’ve followed these instructions and are seeing the notification that Local Fonts are enabled in your Figma account settings, then it’s possible that the font you’ve installed is not the same version as the one used in the File. To resolve this, we suggest you ask the File’s creator to send over the Font version used to create the File. Once you install this version, you’ll need to restart Figma to serve that version.
Alternatively, if you want to use the version stored on your computer, you can select the correct weight in the toggle of that Missing Fonts warning menu. Please note this changes the font version for all editors on the File and so can generate the same error for any other editors who have a different version installed.
@Gayani_S am also having this issue with my chrome browser i have tried all the options you stated but the installed fonts is not showing in the Figma browser. Can this be looked into and this is only for Macbook the installer works well on my Windows
