Sometimes I like to post Figma files to the community that are originally purchased, like my Spotless icons collection.
But if I don‘t flatten the layers, people can duplicate the file and edit the icons for free. So, is there a way where people can duplicate the file, but have only view privileges to the file? Or perhaps I have no other choice than to flatten the layers?
File duplication is the creation of a copy of the original file in the user’s Drafts, where he is the editor.
If you want users to have view-only access, you don’t need to publish the file to Figma Community. Just share the link to the file in your channels with the permissions you want.
