Hi all !
I am starting on Figma and would like to create Instagram posts. I have not found how (if possible) to animate a component (which would maybe create a video format?). For instance, I would like to add the “Search Input” component, and animate it so we would see the text typing in the seach bar.
Could you please help me ?
Thanks a lot for any feedbacks
Hey @Diane_Paillot_de_Montabert ,
Welcome to the community! I recommend you to check out our Help Center article that explains how to start Figma.
First, how to create design, then how to build prototype (to create animations).
Here is an additional video tutorial that may help you:
Thank you very much for your reply !
I think I did not formulate my request properly. I am wondering whether there is a way to create a Kinetic Typography ?
Is this something that can be done directly on Figma or should I use a moving text generator and then add the moving text video into my Figma post?
Thank you veyr much for your help!
Hi there,
Thanks for the clarification! These both options can work.
I’ve also looked into potential tutorials that might address this (for text animations created directly in Figma) that may interest you:

Thank you so much for your help, it is exactly what i was looking for and managed to do it.
Could you help me out in finding how to export my instagram post frame in which i have added my animated text component, in a format that allows the text to still be moving when uploaded in instagram ?
(since i am begining, i am not even sure how to select that one frame among all the other tests frames i have created on the same page).
Thank you so much !
Hey @Diane_Paillot_de_Montabert ,
Glad to hear this helps! Unfortunately, it’s not possible to export animation natively in Figma. As a reminder, in Figma, you can only export in PNG, JPG, SVG and PDF. For more information, you can check our Help Center article: How to export from Figma
To export animated video, you may need to use a plugin to get a GIF or MP4 format. Here are some plugins I found that you can give a try - from a third-party payment- :
You can also try other plugins by looking directly in the community: here
I leave the conversation open as others in the community may have other interesting workaround. Thank you!
