How can I NOT get the new figma updated interface

I really prefer the old Figma UI and would like to keep it. Is there any way to avoid updating to the new UI? Every time I get the pop-up saying “Update now or update on next launch,” I have to force quit Figma and hope it doesn’t appear again when I reopen the app, just so I can continue using the old (and better) UI.

Hey there, welcome to the community!
This is not possible. For your information, while UI3 is still in beta, users on paid plans, as well as users who created their account prior to June 2024, will be able to toggle back to the previous UI.

To use UI3:

  1. Open any Figma Design file
  2. Click on the “?” Help icon in the lower right corner
  3. Select “Use New UI (in beta)”

To return to the previous UI:

  1. Open any Figma Design file
  2. Click on the “?” Help icon in the lower right corner
  3. Select “Go back to previous UI”

Check out the Help Center for more info! Hope this clarifies.

Better question - How CAN I get the new UI? I signed up for the Beta immediately. I’ve got PM’s who reference FIGMA only to look at prototypes that have this. Roles are logged within the org. so the whole thing of “We just don’t know who’s going to get it when?!!” is kinda an unacceptable excuse at this point, especially when these are being turned on at the account level. Locking out those who actually want to use the new UI and roadtest the heck out of it vs. turning on the UI for roles who have nothing to do with design is the most fundamentally flawed execution in a “rollout” I’ve ever seen. I’m ranting obviously but by the time I get this thing, i’m not even going to want to have it because I’ve had to wait for reasons that I just don’t understand or at least make logical sense from a release standpoint. You can’t release by org. by role, by license type, by old account vs new, etc. It’s really like lets play a endless game of spin the wheel and hope you get picked.
