Since the latest update, Figma keeps reloading unexpectedly. Whether I’m zooming in, adding a new image, or doing anything else, it randomly reloads, shows a black screen, and then reloads the file.
Hey @Luke-Itineris, sorry to hear this is happening!
Is this happening both in browser and using the desktop app? What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
- Desktop app
- Windows 11 Business
Keeps reloading:
- zooming into an image
- going from proto back to the file
- many other random scenarios
Hi @dvaliao I am also having the same issue. I have tried a few things to resolve but nothing as of yet has fixed it. I’ve cleared cache to no effect and altered vertical vsync within nvidia settings again this had no effect.
We are having the same problem with bigger complex files. Working is impossible due to constant flickering behavior of Figma desktop/web app even using powerful hardware. Clearing the Cache didn’t solve the problem. It’s unfortunate that the only way to work for us now is by splitting the file into smaller projects. This strategy will solve the problem by now but is not comfortable at all for our workflow.
I hope Figma support team find a solution the earliest possible
Thanks All for the info!
Our team confirmed that this is a bug that they need more information for to repro consistently.
Can you please submit a bug report to our support team directly via the form here? https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001744374
This issue has plagued me for months. None of the recent updates have fixed it. When will a fix be published?
Sorry for the trouble this has caused, @Olly_the_Designer!
As I mentioned above, the team still needs more info to be able to consistently reproduce this issue. If you’re able to reproduce the issue, can you share your file with us here? https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
If so, please use your Figma account email, include a URL link to the file, and share edit access with support-share@figma.com.
The issue is random and there aren’t a set of actions or circumstances that cause it. It’s a bug that causes the Figma window to go blank and reload.
As you can see from the thread, the issue is prevalent, so there must be ways your QA testing team will find it.
That there can’t be a solution until we prove it happens and tell you how to make it happen is not what we need to hear. It’s a bug that shouldn’t reach the end user - especially when it’s an application that forms an important part of companies’ workflows.
Hey @Olly_the_Designer,
A bug has already been filed and the information given here has been handed off to our engineering team who is still investigating this issue.
But until we have more information and are able to reproduce the situations where this occurs by looking at debug logs while in the file, it’s very difficult for the team to pinpoint what is causing the reloading.
To be transparent with you, there have only been 5 reports from the community (4 from this forum topic and 1 with direct support) and only 1 user provided access to their file and a debug log, so it’s likely that this bug will not have an immediate resolution. Due to its complexity and the team’s other priorities, without more information, it will take even longer before they can prioritize to address it.
While I can’t promise a quick fix, please know that our engineering team is aware of the issue and will work towards finding a solution in the future. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.
