Is there a way to have multiple transition styles for different layers in a prototype? So, for example, maybe I want the buttons to auto animate, but I want the header text to dissolve.

Yes you can apply multi effects with smart animate!
It is smart indeed. I’ve did an very simple example with multiple property animations. Just keep in mind smart animate can be smart if you keep the matching layer names between frames. Otherwise it’ll just dissolve in/out your layers.
