Color styles not shown in all color pickers?

Edit: Figma support said they are actively working on a fix for this, yay!

Did we lose the ability to choose color styles within the color picker? I see it moved to a tab within the regular color picker, but if I want to choose a style for a drop shadow, its no longer there at all.

I’m doing a design with solid “drop shadows” and its really slowing me down having to sift through the document colors or find something to use the eye dropper on. Please tell me I am missing something

I have noticed this today also, I have 3 colour libraries on in one design file, and I can no longer select between them. I need to detach in order to reselect, even though all libraries are turned ON> Please fix!

I’ve put in a bug ticket, let’s see!

Same here. It’s super often we have multiple fills in one frame; very convenient. But now I can’t select a brand color as swatch and when I use the “Libraries” tab and select a color it replaces all fill layers with one library swatch.

Just realizing we also can’t build gradients from our library. It has to be a pre-made gradient or color pick from document library.

@Laura_Antonik do you have the bug ticket link? Would love to upvote.

I don’t, I filled in the form and the email I got has no number, link, nor does it repeat what I entered. EEk!

This is crazy - they broke a fundamental process. We need to see local colors and library colors in the picker so we can build gradients and not have to dump all our colors system into a design file and unlink.

Where are our library colors? I don’t want to use them as styles all the time. I just want them to show up instead of document colors.

Hey guys! Has somebody from Figma come with the decision??

Same problem here. I’ve noticed I can no longer make gradients using the library colours in the drop down below the picker. Truly slowing down the process… :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

glad/not glad its not just me. How do we get figma peeps in here to see this thread? Or at least know if they are aware of the issue?

Swapping between Libraries seems fixed for me, they launching a new UI that you now have to pick ALL from the dropdown. The UI inside the color picker has also been updated, so the gradient option is there, it just looks different.

Sure, the gradient option is there, but I can only see a list of the Document Colors below the picker and HEX. Before, there was a dropdown and you could select the Library Colors ONLY to choose from for your gradients.

Did someone get an answer from Figma about it? (not be able to pick colors for gradient from Library Colors).

I didn’t  First time commenting here so wasn’t sure how to CC: them

thats not the issue though. The issue slowing folks down is that color styles can not be accessed within the gradient or drop shadow color windows. Only document colors are available (see screen shot). The UI used to let you pick between styles or document colors.

I sent an email with a link here to support, they said they are forwarding it to engineering and will be in touch.

I think we are talking about 2 issues. I am able to select a gradient as it IS part of a library. I do have the UI now, that allows me to switch to ALL libraries.

Figma engineering team fixed the gradient issue (Create gradients from color library) :tada: Try refreshing Figma.
