I searched the community and didn’t find this listed…
I cannot seem to add a library that is styles / color only? to Figma Slides which is how we separate some of our libraries.
Leveraging how existing users would expect to accomplish this task … a manage libraries feature… wouldn’t confuse new users as they could still use the new way but help your existing millions of pro Figma designers find their way here. Hep? Pluz?
Thanks for the feedback! I just shared it internally and let’s also see the reaction from the community. I will change the post category into Share an idea for future enhancements.
I second Bradee! I can’t find a way to add our teams colour styles to Figma Slides, which seems a bit odd given we use colour styles/variables across our Figma files. It’s making it a bit long winded to create on-brand presentations for stakeholders.
Would be great for this feature to be added please
Agreed, upvote. What confuses me the most is that, according to Figma, we should be able to do this already, or at list they mention adding existing libraries on this post.
Would love to see this feature get supported! It’s super useful especially when we have a centralized file/library for managing text styles and colors that are intended to be used across a series of slide decks.
Hey all, I figured this one out—you can only see and add a library to your Slides file if it has at least one component published within it. This doesn’t make sense to me, but the way I get around it for my libraries that only have color system variables is just to create and publish a dummy component. Once I do that, the library becomes available to add in Slides. They should consider changing this behavior, but I’m guessing it was intentional since Slides has its own color style tools.
