I love Figma, I’ve finally been able to get rid of Illustator.

However, Illustrator had a very useful function when working with a large artboard or a large number of artboards. I could zoom out to view the project, select any object(s) I was interested in, and then zoom+ in to or zoom-to-fit (focus) the selected objects.

Currently, the zoom in Figma is always focused on the centre of the screen, meaning I need to reposition the viewing window as/before I zoom in to work.

I’d like to bump this for the same reason.

Figma should focus/centre the canvas widow on the selected object on zoom. Why it doesn’t is a mystery to me. Especially when the main benefit of this tool is using it to build large design systems.

Figma has already implemented this option, via the key combination shift +2

Hey Elyriades, Shift+2 zoom makes any selected object fill the entire viewport. Not quite the same as the expected zoom feature on Illustrator that does it incrementally.

Better than nothing, but it’ still isn’t great.
