Word spacing feature

‘letter spacing’ is a confusing name. ‘character spacing’ describes more accurately what the feature actually does. characters include: letters, spaces, punctuation, etc… So ‘letter spacing’ adds spacing to spaces and punctuation as well.

If you don’t want that spacing on spaces you can select them and change the letter spacing.

I guess ideally Figma would provide 3 options: character spacing, letter spacing and word spacing. I assume this should be possible technically. In my plugin I’m at least able to distinguish between space characters and other types of characters.

It’s been 4 years and still no word spacing… If CSS has it there’s no reason to not include it. Not only that but it’s also a very simple feature that almost all software has it.

How is this still not a thing 😭
