WHY??? (Is this the poorest design choice in Figma)

Why would you have a hover state like this when selecting a color ? I am selecting the color not sampling it! This is the most idiotic design decision I have ever seen. Just as the user is about to make a selection you change the cursor ! 

Can we vote to get this removed asap ?
