Since it contains most of the information regarding what the selected layer actually contains, it should be flotable and size adjustable imo.

Hi @Femina! Thanks for the feedback - slightly modified the title of your topic to correct the spelling of ‘floatable’ so it surfaces better if anyone is searching for something similar.

Just for extra detail -- would you want the entire panel to also resize the contents (like the pages section and the layers section) in a dynamic way? imo, I think it being locked in on the right makes still makes sense for the platform overall, but I understand what you’re saying. I’ll keep this open so others can look this up and add any additional comments :D

I would prefer floating pallets like Adobe products that remain open. I find it difficult when features disappear instead of disable. When they disappear, I continue to hunt for them until I have exhausted every possible location. This is sort of a couple ideas at once, but having floating pallets lets a user arrange them as they please (for example, I personally never use Effects, so I would move that to the bottom, or even off to an additional column of lesser used pallets — maybe even to my second monitor).

As for features disappearing, one example is the Resize to fit icon. Depending on the selection, it may or may not be available. But sometimes I think it’s available and have to hunt for it everywhere before realizing I need to alter my selection. If it were present in the same place all the time and just disabled, I wouldn't have to keep hunting. There are tons of little features like this that make using Figma so much harder than it needs to be.

(And don’t get me started on keyboard shortcut customization!)
