Setting to prevent URL links from being clickable in design mode

Does there exist a setting that would allow me to prevent URL links from being clicked while designing?

I want them if I’m viewing a prototype. When I’m designing though, I’ll often copy and paste copy from our website which has a number of links in it. Then as I select text to work with it I inevitably click the links. It’s almost as if my mouse is attracted to them. It drives me nuts.

Hey @Alaina_Coppa, thank you for reaching out!

Unfortunately, this is not possible at this moment. I do understand that I would be beneficial to have the option to make the link inactive. I’ve changed the topic from “Ask the community” to “Share an idea” so others can upvote this feature request and leave their feedback!

Thanks,
Gayani

Yes, kind of annoying when you want to style and can't easily select the text.

Yeah this feels like a really bad UX choice when in design mode. IMO clicking text with a link should treat it just like regular text and select it - the tooltip that hovers above it already provides the perfect way to follow the link.

I just downloaded the same PDF 7 times while trying to style or adjust a text with a link in it… (A link that I wanna keep for the prototype). Why would the link work in design mode?? In the preview sure.
