Select parent group or frame for annotations

Currently, annotations only allow you to select the lowest level layers it can find. Many, many times I just want to document something on a whole group or frame, and it doesn’t look like this is possible, which seems like a huge miss.

    Select annotation tool (make sure it’s currently active)

    Right click on the main frame → Add annotation

      Yeah, I saw that but thats not a feasible way to comb through 100s of nested frames and groups. 

      It’s absolutely baffling that this doesn’t work like the regular select tool where it automatically selects the top frame/group and you hold command to drill in. WHY wasn’t it made similarly?!?

        Agreed, this is very tedious and reduces the value of the feature
