Preserving style/formatting when Copy/pasting text layers between files

I am trying to copy the text formatting from google docs to Figma. it does not take over styling at all, is there a solution for this already?

I am equally surprised that this isn’t a feature yet! Would love to be able to copy lists from Word into a Figma text frame and retain basic formatting like text decoration and lists. Currently Figma pastes each bullet point as a character (·) with a bunch of spaces, instead of pasting it as a list. This makes it extremely time-intensive to reformat!

Not only bringing text from different apps, but in Figma itself. Copying text from a text box and pasting it on another one will lose all the format. Really time-consuming to reformat.

We have a about 15 pages long legal document with headings and bold text. I’m unable to copy and paste it into Figma without loosing the formatting. Manual formatting is going to be time-consuming. I tried two plugins so far without success.

I didn’t realize this thread was about copying between two Figma files. In any case, I found a workaround. Convert document to markdown and use plugin Marky to generated formatted text in Figma. 

That is a great solution. However, some organizations might not allow using plugins due to risk and compliance. It would be much better to have this ability out of the box.
