Move a page from one Figma file to another

Pretty simple ask: I want to move a page from one Figma to another. I don’t see a way to do it.
Select All + Cut + Paste is not a good solution as I might have locked objects that don’t come with the copy and there might be properties set on the page (background color, etc.) that I might lose.

Is it so hard to enable a “Move page to another file” feature, to help us with the super annoying “Recovery mode” because of memory usage?

You give us low memory to work with on each file, but also don’t give us options to help split the file? WTF?

I had this same issue. I duplicated the file(s) and renamed them. Then I used the Delete Multiple Pages plugin to remove all the pages that I didn’t need in the new file. Then, you can just delete the pages from the initial file since you now have an archive with all comments.

But that is only a quick fix. Any incoming links are broken, in my case from each Jira story, so you need to reconnect those either on archived or on new stories. Also, further down the road you will need to do the same again, and end up with multiple archive files and one active file for the same part of the product.

I reaaaally need this, or a better way to manage my work. I currently work in sprints - one page for each sprint item. It’d be great to be able to have one file for “Work In Progress” and one for “Archive”. Then, once a sprint item is completed, I can move that entire page to the “Archive” folder for future reference. With my current workflow otherwise, I’m going to have a huge list of archived pages from completed sprints.

This has been driving me (and apparently hundreds of others) crazy since 2021: there is STILL no native way to properly move or duplicate an entire page from one Figma file to another.

Copy-paste or “Select All” destroys page background/grid/rulers, breaks prototypes, loses comments, turns library styles into local duplicates, and forgets locked/hidden layers. Duplicating the whole file then deleting pages is the only “workaround” — but it’s a nightmare with 50+ page files or design systems.

I’m a fellow designer who’s fed up and seriously considering building a free Figma plugin called PagePort that would let you:

Export any page (or batch multiple pages) with 100% fidelity (layers, auto-layout, constraints, page props, prototypes where possible)
Import into any other open file in one click
Choose Move (delete from source) or Copy
Smart remapping for styles/variables/libraries + basic prototype reconnection
Progress bar for large pages

Would this solve the problem for you? What features are absolute must-haves (e.g. comments transfer, export as .figpage file, template preservation)?

Most importantly — how are you currently managing this in your workflow? Sprint archiving? Splitting massive files? Design system handoffs? I’d love to hear your hacks (or horror stories) so I can make sure the plugin actually fixes the real pain.
