[LAUNCHED] All plans should offer more than 4 variable modes

It would be great if the professional plan offered more than 4 variable modes. Right now I want to set up a mode for each component size-- XS - XL, 5 sizes all together-- which puts me over the 4 limit for pro, but well under the 40 limit for enterprise, which is a quantity I will never need. And there’s no use case for enterprise at all for a team our size.

I think 10-12 modes for pro would be perfect to give small teams like mine room to grow before we reach the scale where an enterprise plan would be worth consideration.

It’s finally here - mode count updates across Pro and Org.

Pro → 10
Org → 20

This is disappointing, to say the least…you don’t even get more modes if you upgrade to organisation. Doesn’t seem right at all.

I also support the idea of having more modes available. In any case, if the number of modes remains limited, I’d suggest to communicate such limit in a more clear way.

I was creating a multilingual prototype in 4 languages, and I only learnt about the limit when an additional language was needed with a short time around and I tried to add it.

In this context it came as arbitrary and totally unexpected. I’d have appreciated an early signal about the number of modes I had available or that I was running out of them earlier. Especially since most of the plan-specific limits in Figma and other tools are often binary (you have the feature or not), and it may be quite unexpected to find limits on other aspects such as the number of modes, border widths or fonts that you can use.
