[LAUNCHED] Action Center (or Anchor Point)

It would be amazing if Figma added a reference point control (or anchor point control) for scaling and rotation, similar to what tools like photoshop and After Effects have had for years.

Right now, everything scales from the top-left by default, which usually isn’t what I’m aiming for.

Having a quick toggle (or anchor grid) to set the center of action would save so much manual repositioning.

Figma has an anchor point option already :D . Press option + R or alt + R… and you can move it around. Its also available in the properties panel in Figma Motion. https://www.instagram.com/p/DOwIEFVCcgl/ It has been included  as of Summer 2025 with the announcement Figma Draw. Anchor point will be honored for rotation and scale in Smart Animate and in Figma Motion when animating.

Also, when scaling with the scale tool (K) the properties panel provides an anchor from which to scale the object.

Thanks, miggi!

The Scale tool (K) does the trick.

Option-R makes the anchor visible and let me move it around, but Figma still ignores it when I type numbers directly into the properties panel: it always falls back to scaling from the top-left corner or the selected object.
