Hi Figma dev team, When selecting fonts, it used to be that you could just copy the font name and paste it into the search field. Now, you have to type the font name manually to choose a font. Can you bring back the copy-and-paste feature? That would make changing or selecting fonts much easier. Thanks.
It will be great when you’re dealing with complex components with multiple variants and you want to edit the names, bulky, with Numbers like $nn and $NN to consider the multiedit. Right now, if you want to do that, all your layers will be renamed sequentially. For example, you want to bulk edit 5 layers in 10 variants resulting in 50 names. Bulk rename would give them names from 1 to 50, while I expect to have from 1 to 5 on all variants. I hope that makes sense, but it will be a game changed for handling and maintaining complex components
ability to hide a slide in a deck - IMO this is a basic. Canva & Google Slides have this; Its really important for iterating on ideas or collaborating with others. My work around is to have a end of the deck “archive” slide then move slides after the archive slide. Dragging slides around (especially when its a large deck) is annoying. “Undo” should not include viewing a different slide - this has been very confusing for me and its tripped me up to the point that I’ve considered going back to Canva or Google Slides. When I make an edit to deck and I choose undo I expect for that edit to go away … not to navigate somewhere else.
I would like to let the employee knows why I rejected their seat request.
Thanks for Slides, Figma! Can we get more flexibility for exporting? While there is the option to “Export all slides to PDF” hidden in the File menu, there’s no option to right click on an individual slide to export just one. For large decks this can be tedious culling a large PDF export if just wanting to export one or a few specific slides. It’d be awesome to have a slide selector, right click, and/or export panel to the right (similar to Figma’s traditional export options) for file format, size, etc.
To try to give more context to developers, we ended up creating “meta” designs, designs for annotations, personas, data model, naming conventions, etc. We put these into a “Developer Context” frame that can be hidden or shown. Yet, it’s clunky and gets in the way a lot. If designers had access to Dev Mode and could design WITHIN it, then these designs and their components would only show up in Dev Mode and designers wouldn’t have to navigate around them.
Would be great if when I click on a slide and duplicate it (command + D) I could then reorder the slide with the same hotkey as reordering layers in Figma design (command + [ or ]).
Hello there and huge kudo to the entire Figma team for this amazing feature! All interactive components used in a prototype have a hotspot hint linked to it regardless the connection made in the file to simulate a flow. In results, there are hotspot hints everywhere which is more confusing that helping. The need is to be able to distinguish between self-generated hotspot hints and the one I really need in relation to my flow.
There is no clear reason why Show Outlines is not available in Figma Slides.
When I try to use Pan with the space bar or some click and drags… there are some delays and the commands don’t work properly, messing around the files. I had the same issues in a iOS from work and the windows in my house. I was suspicious that enabling the interactive componentes could be the one causing this problem, but another designer from my network complaint about the same issue to me, and he didn’t enabled that tool in beta. Hope this complication do not last long.
Mp4 option to Export. So if we wanted to export a social card or UI graphic that has simple tween animations we can do so from Figma
ok im embarassed to ask this but can i scale a widget? i found a widget i really like - i want to use it but its really small and doesnt fit my design frame i hit K for scale but its not doing anything am i really dumb - or is it just widgets dont scale??
There are so many options for Figma presentation settings. It would be great if we could save our default presentation preferences.
Similar to the current option to mark a section as ‘Ready for dev’, it would be great if we could easily mark sections or pages with changeable statuses, such as ‘WIP’, ‘In design’, ‘AB Testing’, etc., rather than manually applying emojis in the page name. This could be implemented into the ‘ready for dev’ dropdown menu on a section, and then the status is also indicated in the page name with an icon. Additionally, it would be beneficial if these statuses were customizable to suit different companies’ needs.
With the new addition of dev mode, it’s really bugging me that designers can mark things as ready for development, yet developers cannot “respond”. I’ve seen a fair share of plugins that allow you to mark top-level components/frames with this really large preset component, but as a developer, I cannot apply this status myself due to lack of write access. With write access however, it would be more useful to create custom status components/icons that we could use as internal indicators that deprecate the need for external status plugins. I would really love to see Figma create additional statuses within dev mode, that help devs keep track of individual component status. For example, we have a page dedicated to Iconography, and it’s hard to keep track of which icons are implemented, which are new, etc. It’s unfortunate since status of development may be best marked in a PM tool such as JIRA, but it is the case that: It takes too long to create tickets for each component tickets become o
With the UI3 update, the frequently used corner radius field completely breaks my flow. It is always positioned in a different spot depending on what you have selected. Previously no matter what you have selected the corner radius was always at the top near the rotation input. Now it’s not even possible to set a shortcut for this field using tools like BetterTouchTool because it needs to click in a specific spot. So you have to visually search through the array of similar looking input fields trying to find where the corner radius is. This takes multiple seconds for me every time I want to change corner radius. This way it’s impossible to build muscle memory to quickly press this field — muscle memory works by doing the same action, not searching through the entire column first. At the very least offer a native shortcut to enter corner radius so I have a quick way to set it.
Need to collapse all assets by one action. For example like in ‘Layers’ it could be done by Option+L. So why I can’t do it in ‘Assets’?
Problem Currently you can’t use color styles in other styles like grid or effect styles. However this is very helpful for building design systems. Otherwise when changing a color that is used in effect styles you have to manually change it in all effect styles (which is a lot of work and can lead to bugs by forgetting it). Solution One possible solution would be to allow us to use color styles within the other styles. Am I the only person who feels this pain or do others run into this as well?
I love the new UI3! However, finding the active tab is a bit challenging. The active tab is only distinguished by a blue icon instead of a grey one, and the text is black instead of dark grey. Could you consider making the icon filled or coloring the entire tab blue to improve visibility?
It will be helpful to if there an option to change **scoping for grouped variables and overall collection **
Screen-sharing design presentations suck. The low frame rate, low resolution and small screen size ruin the care you’ve put into the design. It makes spending time on slides/prototypes animation useless. As of now you can send the presentation link, but people unfamiliar with Figma (like clients, executives, devs) don’t really get the follow/spotlight interaction. It would be great if we could have a way to: Lock on following the presenter Disable prev/next controls for viewers. Basically put people in front of a presentation, without any work on their side required to understand new concepts or models.
Hi everyone… I recently worked on a couple of video game UI, and I realised that would be awesome to have the option to add sound to animations / transitions. It would be useful to have it as ‘‘behaviour’’ into the existing component animation feature For example: On Click → play sound XXXX And also to attach a sound to a frame, as it gets triggered when, in prototype mode, you navigate to a new frame. For example: Screen 1 —> navigate to → screen 2 ( sound played ). That would make game prototypes much more complete and realistic! Right now, I need to record the interaction and edit / adding sound in a motion/video software.
Love slides! Great addition. One thing I noticed is when I copy a bunch of slides into a new slide project the order in which I originally copied them changed. I wish they’d stay in the same order In which they were copied or introduce the ability to “duplicate project” from within a slides project.
Our team had a download session about this year’s Config. Live Interactions stood out to me the most, considering I’m often in alignment sessions with business partners. The problem: Remote Share As much as they enjoy our fun decks and interactive prototypes, these partners aren’t the most tech-savvy. Working in enterprise also means people are working from different OSs, often set in their ways too. Moving people from Adobe Connect to Zoom was a 2 quarter effort in 2023. We present via Zoom — utilizing these Live Interactions is going to be a really messy process: “Please open the Figma link to follow our presentation!” “Are you not sharing on Zoom?? How do we get there” “Oh it’s in the meeting invite” “Uhhh… okay hold on (wait for 12 people to get to it)” “Can someone send me the link?” “Yeah let me try… Do we have a chat for [insert epic that’s on and off every month and doesn’t have a group chat]?” Obviously, there was a decision made by the Figma team here to make Slides the place
Minor enhancement request, big fan of Figma. Scenario: I have dozens of comments in a project. I’m reviewing them with the folks who build our design system. Click the comment icon in header to show all comments in right panel. Select a comment in right panel, takes me to that page/comment. On that page I esc out of “comment mode” to tweak the component we’re looking at. When I click the comment icon in the header again it displays the top of the list of comments. If I have dozens of comments in a project that means I have to scroll down a lot to get back to the comment where we left off. Could the comment panel scroll be maintained?
