Hi there!

I completely agree with the suggestion, and I’d love to see Figma add an option to set a default export format, rather than having to manually switch each time.

It would be really helpful if users could set their default export format to something other than PNG, such as SVG, PDF, or JPEG. This feature would save a lot of time and improve workflow efficiency, especially for teams or designers who frequently use these formats.

For example:

  • SVG would be great as the default for vector-based designs, like icons or illustrations.

  • PDF would be useful for exporting designs meant for print or documents where quality is key.

  • JPEG would help when exporting images that don't require transparency and need to be smaller in size.

Having the flexibility to choose a default export format that best suits the project or design type would make Figma even more powerful and tailored to individual user needs.

I hope this gets considered as a feature in the future!
