Hey everyone
I wanted to share my workflow for designing SEO-optimized landing pages in Figma, something I’ve been refining while working with clients here in Nepal.
A lot of designers focus purely on visuals, but I’ve learned that small design decisions can directly impact rankings, page speed, and conversions.
Here’s a simplified version of my process:
1. Start with search intent (not design)
Before opening Figma, I map out:
-
Target keywords
-
User intent (what they actually want)
-
Competitor page structure
This helps me design pages that match what users are searching for, not just what looks good.
2. Structure comes first
Inside Figma, I focus on layout hierarchy:
-
Clear H1 section (above the fold)
-
Logical content flow (H2, H3 sections)
-
Scannable layout (short sections, spacing, visual breaks)
Basically, making it easy for both users and search engines to understand.
3. Design for speed
I try to avoid:
-
Heavy images
-
Unnecessary animations
-
Overcomplicated components
Instead, I design lightweight sections that developers can easily translate into fast-loading pages.
4. Conversion-focused UI
Things I always include:
-
Clear CTA placement
-
Trust signals (reviews, stats, etc.)
-
Simple navigation
Because traffic without conversions doesn’t mean much.
5. Mobile-first thinking
Most traffic is mobile, so I design mobile versions early, not as an afterthought.
I’m curious, how many of you think about SEO while designing in Figma?
Do you include it in your workflow, or is it handled later by developers/marketers?
Would love to hear how others approach this.
