💬 4 years ago @Wolfgang_H proposed being able to manipulate a locked layer while pressing a hotkey and relock it immediately after release: https://forum.figma.com/topic/show?tid=29231&fid=21

I find that idea still pertinent today, as I was working with multiple objects on top of a background. I accidentally select the background too many times, so I had to lock it. But then I want to resize/change the background, so I had to unlock it. Going back and forth with 🔒/🔓 introduces quite a bit of friction.

🤔 I do understand though that having too many shortcuts/hotkeys can be annoying as people make mistakes and they can hit the wrong key accidentally. However, I would love to have this feature in the little big updates as I deem it necessary enough.
