{Commenting as Guests}

Clients wanting to give access to prototypes to temporary teams without the need to create accounts as guests only, allowing comments and feedback within Figma prototypes.

Possibly allowing these users to make comments on prototypes as Guests with temporary names.

Just adding my comment to the thread that this is HUGELY disappointing. I convinced my team to switch from XD to Figma, not realizing that people outside of our team can’t leave feedback comments. Most of the people who need to review my wireframes are not designers, they are part of leadership or outside project managers and should not have to log in or create an account.

Seems like I will have to continue using XD for anything that needs to be reviewed outside of my immediate team (which is most things).

I guess they are more worried about AI than real useful feature to be able to do our work… Very disappointed in Figma wit h this one. Looking for alternative as we speaks.

Likewise 😦 I run into this all the time.

I’ve been using a free tool called Sima which support this.

Why is no one from Figma responding?? This thread goes back to 2021 and the problem has not been addressed.

Hey @Marcy_Rye, sorry for the frustration!

It looks like Junko from our team replied back in February and passed this topic to our Collaboration team for future consideration:

That said, while I wish there was more my team could do here, feature requests are ultimately up to our product teams. Our team here in the community can only advocate based on your votes and feedback. Historically, feature requests with +750 votes have a better chance of being prioritized.

We’ll be able to provide an update with a more accurate timeline when we get one from the team.

We have a paid organization subscription and we still don’t have this feature!

Unbelievable that we’re nearing the end of 2024 and this simple yet essential feature is STILL missing. This is some Adobe-level customer neglect. Sort it out.

Please Figma, we need this essential feature. XD does it beautifully so we know it’s possible!

This feature is a must to get feedback from non design/tech savvy clients who we are sending prototypes to.

Also shocked this isn’t available. What’s the point of creating something for client feedback - when you’re creating artificial barriers to get their feedback?

I want to use the tool to get feedback - and you force people to create accounts? Why?

@Celine_Figma Yes this would be helpful! I just switched all my presentations from XD to Figma and it was really simple with XD for clients to make/pin comments without making an account. If there could be a way for any viewer to make comments in Figma Prototypes, that would be amazing.

Bumping this up. Need to be able to gather content feedback from external stakeholders who don’t have any Figma experience at all. They need to be able to leave comments without signing in.

Thought this was possible, unfortunately after migrating our team to Figma, realized it isn’t an existing feature. Will need to use a different tool. Sigh.

Working on switching over from XD, and this has been the biggest disappointment so far. Too much friction for clients, especially with limited technical knowledge.

I’ve shared review links with clients on XD and in Frame. io and have witnessed no drawbacks.

This. Exactly the same feedback from clients on our end.
