Managing local variables is pretty cumbersome and buried in menus.
Bringing over the variable window found in Figma, would be big help in managing local variables.
Hey @SeanBChandler, thanks for the feedback!
We’ll pass this onto the Figma Slides team for future consideration.
Dude, you used the word cumbersome. I’d say “impossible”. At present, there is no management of variables in Slides whatsoever. You can create them but you can’t edit them or even delete them. As best I can tell, Variables in Slides is a placeholder for future functionality that may eventually be useful.
Currently, there is no discernable value to using variables in Figma Slides.
Have you actually found a way to manage variables in Slides, however cumbersome?
still not possible? HELP!
Yep, still not possible from what I can see. Big oversight I think
Agree with Scott, this feature looks incomplete and misleading… pretty disappointing and it seems that figma does not treat slide as a product they value...
Has anyone figured this out?
I’ve spend almost 5 hours to resolve this, with many tries….
Figma team can you please reply about the status here? It’s making it so Slides isn’t even an option to use, where if this feature actually worked, we, for one, would be able to leave Adobe altogether. Please get back to your community!
I’m in awe of how a company the size of Figma can release a variables functionality in slides without having a system for managing variables in place. It makes absolutely no sense. A variable that cant be edited is a constant. What is going on? Why haven’t they fixed it? I’m getting emotional damage from how frustrating this is. Please, send help.
