It would be extremely helpful if we could transfer designs from Figma Make to Figma Design.
And while I know this topic already exists on the forums, I would like to go into a bit more detail here.

As a designer I love using Figma Make to rapidly iterate concepts and create high fidelity wireframes. However, after a certain point you hit a plateau and just have to “old-fashionedly” edit the design to give it the character and finesse only a designer’s hands can give.
We don’t always know from the beginning what a screen should look like and we just have to play around with it for a while until we hit that sweet spot. We know it when we see it and we can’t always describe it in words.

Figma Make offers tremendous help and a great base for our designs, but we need to get our hands dirty to really make them ours.

For now, we are laboriously using plugins like html.to.design to bring our work into figma design, but I think it is Figma itself that should bridge this gap and bring vibe coding closer to designers.

Thank you!

This is exactly what we need also. Once the file becomes somewhat large, it takes forever to make adjustments and fine‑tune. Doing it from Make to Design and vice versa would be much more productive.

You can using the html.to.design Figma plugin

  • Design in Figma Make (in the browser)
  • Launch html.to.design chrome extension
  • Click on “Capture Figma preview”
  • it will be automatically imported into Figma Design, or it will create an .h2d file that you can drop into Figma design (via the html.to.design Figma plugin)

I read a figma staff reply in another thread on this topic stating that figma PMs are discussing this feature. Without revealing too much… Should we be expecting this functionality to be more than a year out? Because if so, I’ll invest my time building a plugin. The html.to.design workaround isn’t cutting it for me as a cross-platform designer.
