It could be very interesting to save Figma Make code-driven interactions as “Custom Interactions” on the design canvas.
There are some occasions where an interaction is difficult to mock in Design mode/would result in a lot of layer bulk to create the desired effect. In those cases, I am happy to navigate to Make and describe the interaction I’d like to see - but my options from there are very limited. I will have to either port the rest of my design into make, or display this interaction separately from the rest of the experience.
If you are on Make and select Copy Design for a frame/section that fully hosts the interaction - no external interaction, would it be possible to copy the coded interaction steps into the element/display them in the interactions UI as “Custom Interaction”? Another pathway for something like this would be enabling the on-canvas agent to create interactions through code.
This could enable faster interaction prototyping, more complicated interactions (persistent conditionality is of a particular interest here to me - enabling an element to constantly be looking for a condition that would then prompt an interaction - without relying on a catalyst action), and generally improve the process of moving between Make and Design canvases.
