Figma AI tools for Education (Student) plan

Hello, I have a student (education) account on Figma, which should include all the Professional plan features. However, the option to enable Figma AI tools in the team settings does not work for me. Does anyone know if AI tools are available for education accounts, or how I can properly enable them?

You’re right, there are some limits on Figma AI tools for Education plan holders. While Figma Make is now available to most Education team members, AI features in Figma Design and FigJam aren’t included in Education plans at this time. If there are specific AI features you’re hoping to use, let me know. I can pass your feedback along to the product team so they understand what’s most valuable for Education users. 🙏🏻

You’re right, there are some limits on Figma AI tools for Education plan holders. While Figma Make is now available to most Education team members, AI features in Figma Design and FigJam aren’t included in Education plans at this time.     please add the “ai background removal tool” to figma design for the educational plan! I used it at my last Job and it saved sooo much time and hustle. Over all for students it is such a nice tool to not spend unnecessary time on removing backgrounds for clean image integration in designs…

It’s understandable that Education plan users would expect wider access, especially when AI tools can really speed up workflows for students working on projects or prototypes remotely. Access limitations can be frustrating, but clear documentation definitely makes things easier. I’ve noticed a similar pattern with education-focused platforms where step-by-step guidance reduces confusion during important moments

    Thanks for the clear explanation that helps a lot. It makes sense that Figma Make is available while AI inside Design and FigJam is still limited for Education plans. For students, features like auto-layout suggestions, content generation for wireframes, or quick diagram creation would save a huge amount of time during assignments.
