FigJam: Inconsistency when changing color of fill vs border

I’ve noticed when using Figjam that I VERY OFTEN accidentally change the fill color of a shape, when I actually wanted to change the border. This is due to the UI inconsistency between the tool panels when selecting shapes VS lines. The exact same icon (a colored circle) means completely different things in both contexts. When I want to change the color, I’m going to click the color icon. Makes sense, right? Except that’s not how it is.

I would love to see more standardised and recognisable icons for the fill VS shape controls. In Figma Design, for example, the border color is always in the same location, no matter if I select a shape or a line. Selecting one or the other doesn’t suddenly cause the same function to change locations and appearance.

Hi @Julia57, thanks for your honest feedback!

I completely understand the frustration here. We’ll be sure to pass this feedback onto the FigJam team for consideration.

Please note that when selecting a shape in FigJam the menu that appears is meant for edits to the selected shape as a whole. In the meantime, as a temporary solution, to edit the shape’s border, you’ll want to select the Line style icon first to open the menu specifically for line style editing. Hope this helps clarify!
