Feature Request – Keyboard Shortcut for Copying Designs in Figma Make

Hello Figma Team,

I’ve been working a lot with Figma Make, and I really appreciate how smooth and intuitive it is. However, I’ve run into a challenge when copying a design.

Currently, copying requires clicking the Copy Design button. This becomes difficult when I need to copy a hover state of a component, because moving my mouse to the button causes the hover state to disappear. As a result, I can't copy the hovered version unless I screenshot manually or work around it.

A keyboard shortcut for copying would solve this problem perfectly. With a shortcut, I could keep my mouse on the component to maintain the hover state while triggering the copy action from the keyboard.

This would greatly improve workflow and interaction design handling in Figma Make.

      +1 to something more on the figma side.

       

      But a current workaround I’m doing

      • Use ‘tab’ from your keyboard until you’re tabbed over the copy design button
        • You will know as it would have an outline to it like below
      • Hover over your icon
      • Press enter on your keyboard 
      • It should copy the design

      Same problem here with trying to copy the design layers for a dropdown. Workaround with tab doesn’t work unfortunately in this case, since the focus is away from figma’s UI.
