Essential Feature Request for Figma Slides

Hugo Aletheia

Hello,

We’re currently migrating our studio portfolio to Figma Slides.
Our main concern is ensuring clients (who will discover the portfolio for the first time) can navigate through the slides easily and intuitively.

❌ The problem

We’ve noticed that new users often struggle with Figma Slides’ default navigation, especially when trying to go back to the previous slide:

They must use keyboard arrow keys, which many people aren’t used to anymore (since most sites and tools are fully operable by mouse)
Or they have to hover on specific screen edges to make small navigation arrows appear

👉 Overall, the default navigation is not intuitive, and this creates friction that undermines the purpose of a clean, user-friendly presentation.

✅ Suggested improvements

We believe the following features would significantly enhance the experience.
Each is useful on its own, but ideally, they could work together for maximum flexibility:

🖱️ Better navigation tools

  • Ability to add navigation buttons directly from the toolbar
  • Ability to add link to objects (images, shapes, etc.)
  • Support for dynamic logic in links, e.g.: “next page” / “current page +1” to avoid manually updating links when slides are reordered

🎨 UI customization

  • Ability to customize presentation UI, including style, color, size, and position of the navigation arrows
  • Option to toggle UI elements to tailor the presentation (for a minimal or more guided experience)
  • Ability to show/hide a slide thumbnails side panel for better overview

📹 Media support

  • Native ability to embed YouTube or Vimeo videos, similar to what plugins like Pitchdeck already offer

💡 Why it matters

These improvements would directly enhance the core experience of presenting work to clients, making Figma Slides a stronger alternative to other presentation tools.

We really hope to see these features considered and implemented soon.

Thanks for your attention and amazing work on Figma!
Best regards.
