Drag/move entire columns or rows of content in a grid (table usecase)

When creating grids on Figma, it would be useful if one could pick a specific column or row and just drag it across the layout to reorder content.

Sometimes the content is too complex to select each individual cell and just move it around with the arrow or dragging. It could be cool to drag the whole column or row to reorder content.

I think this is a natural instinct for most people, and not being able to do it when designing is kind of restricting in my opinion. The handle could even be the current “circle” that appears above/aside the table.

Or please add this option here

This would be awesome, there is no clear / effective work around either, copy-pasting multiple cells is not really well supported either.

Figma, is there a chance that you will do this in a few years?

Please! 🙏

Really would love this!

It’s really tedious, confusing and error-prone re-ordering a whole table one-cell at a time,

You can move rows and columns around in a grid. When going into “grid settings”, on hover the icon changes and a hand pointer appears, this means you can move rows and columns around. I tested it and it does it seemlessly. I hope this helps.

You might need to update your Figma. My understanding is that this is a new feature. I don’t use Figma often so I’m not sure. In case this helps, I’m not on a MAC, I’m on PC laptop and use installed Figma rather than from the browser. Good luck! I know how frustrating this is.
