Custom Domain Option on Figma Sites for EDU users

Khinto.

Hello, I just discovered Figma Sites and wanted to create a Portfolio, however I cannot find the option to publish it and connect it to my custom domain. On the website and on youtube, everyone seems to have an option to add connected domain in the Site Settings under the Domain menu, however the menu for me consists of just Base Domain menu. (See screenshot)

I would love to resolve this issue and connect to my custom domain. I am using education plan and as stated on Figma Website I should be able to host one website. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Hi @Khinto., thanks for reaching out!

While Figma Sites is still in open beta, Education users can publish one Site file; however, publishing a site to a custom domain is currently only available on paid plans. Since Education plans don’t include billing, custom domains aren’t available on Education accounts at this time.

To use a custom domain, the site would need to be owned by a paid Professional, Organization, or Enterprise team. As a temporary workaround, if having a custom domain is important, you could move the site to a paid team or have a paid team member publish and connect the domain on your behalf.

Other Education plan users in the community have expressed the desire for this capability, so I’ve updated this topic into a feature request. We’ll pass this feedback onto our Sites team for future consideration. Hope this helps explain, but please let me know if you have any further questions!
