Hi Community,

We use Figma (iframe) embeds in our technical documentation extensively and we would like to enable our colleagues to leave comments via these embeddingss instead of visiting the design in a separate browser tab/ window. What’s the proper way to do that?

thanks,

Hey @D_RH - at the moment, I believe it isn’t possible to leave comments in an embed of the file in another place. All comments have to be done natively in Figma (even through a view-only share of the file).

I’ll switch this topic over to Share Feedback so others can find + vote on the ability to be able to do this!

Thanks for the answer, this would indeed be a nice feature for Figma embeds!

Yes this would be really nice. We are also looking to integrate Figma into different parts of our system and way of working. Not being able to comment or even see comments is a real limitation for further Figma integration.

Yes please, this would be great, it’s very limiting to not be able to comment in embeds

Hi all, I am trying to embed a figma board in our client portal and allow for comments to be added through the embed. No matter what settings I select for permissions, the board does not allow comments when it loads in the embed.

I current have this set to “Anyone” with “View” access, but it does not allow for comments in the embed. I also tried this with “Anyone” and “Edit” access, and the same result. It just loads the board and allows the user to scroll around, zoom in/out, and click through to the board.

How can I enable the ability to add comments?
