Collapse Layers no longer focuses on selected layers

Hi ​@Jason TM, thanks for reaching out about this! 

I just tested collapsing layers in my own file, and it’s still working as expected. When using the Collapse layers shortcut (⌥L), all other layers collapse as expected, while I stay focused on my selected layers. 

Is this happening in all files or one file in particular? Is this happening using Figma in the browser, the desktop app, or both? Are you able to share a screen recording of what’s happening on your end with your layers panel and canvas visible? 

With these details, we’ll be able to investigate what’s happening further. We appreciate your help. 

Thanks for the reply, on further testing I do still see that behaviour in some cases, so I must be running into the edges often…

Now I think I’ve been conflating the behaviours. Selecting a layer focuses it in the panel and “collapse layers” only maintains the scroll, but doesn’t try to focus the selection itself.

I think in my case, I have often selected multiple layers, then scrolled the panel, then collapsed, then got lost somewhere in very long lists.

So this is more of a feature request after all: it is often useful to have a way to “find layer in layers list” and I think that’s how I’ve been using “collapse layers” so far.
